Free Home Education Workshops

Beverley Paine is running a series of free monthly practical home education workshops in homeschooler family homes around the Adelaide metrolpolitan area in 2005. Some dates and venues are yet to be confirmed.

Beverley has nineteen years of homeschooling/unschooling experience and is the author of several titles on home education in Australia. She has spoken at South Australian and interstate home education conferences and run workshops for TAFE on Getting Started with Homeschooling.

Space is limited so bookings are essential. To book email Beverley contact@beverleypaine.com or phone 04319 08220 to obtain more details, including address.Attending children must be supervised by their parent/s at all times. If you are bringing children, please bring toys or activities to occupy them.

If you wish to host one of the workshops below please contact Beverley as soon as possible so she can finalise and publicise the calendar. Hosts need to provide seating for about ten adults (inside or out, depending on the weather) and an activity space for supervised children to play. Beverley will bring afternoon tea - coffee, tea, etc, although the host is welcome to provide some as well.



Dads and Homeschooling
June Wednesday 22nd Wright Family Home, St Agnes
What role does the father, who may be at work all day, play in educating the children. Far from passive, the working father is an important contributor. Beverley (and hopefully Robin) will share some ways fathers can feel more involved.

Motivation
July Saturday 16th, 2pm-5pm, Wilton Family Home, Cowandilla
What do to with a child that is 'bored' or resisting to learn at home... A fresh perspective on motivation and some ways to keep motivation to learn high in the homeschool.

Evaluation & Record Keeping

Beverley shares her years of experience with evaluating and keeping records. She will demonstrate the Always Learning Book Diaries and HE Records, and show how to start a portfolio for each child.

Getting Started with Homeschooling & Curriculum Day
JAMESTOWN, on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6th, 10am - 4pm.
The day will include Beverley's 'Getting Started' workshop, along with
displays of books and curriculum both from Beverley - Always Learning

To confirm this date, and to make it worthwhile for Beverley to travel
all this way, we do need a minimum number of attendees.

Permaculture in the Homeschool Curriculum
